Home Learning

Every two weeks, students receive a new home learning grid to complete. A physical copy is also sent home on Monday at the beginning of the two-week cycle.

Using the home learning grid helps students become more organized and develop self-regulation skills as they plan their schedules for the two-week cycle and make personal choices which fit their interests and goals. For this reason, please encourage your child to plan their week with as much independence as possible.

Every time a student finishes a task, he/she checks off the box in the grid and writes the date of completion beside the box. The home learning grid and the completed materials should be glued into their home learning books and submitted on the due date.

Students must complete the task with a star every day, and the tasks with the red circles by the due date. Each home learning grid specifies how many tasks students must complete by the due date. With the exception of reading every day, students choose a different task every school night (Monday to Thursday). One activity should be completed in approximately 15-20 minutes.

Further instructions are written on the home learning grid.
